The Band with an Ace Up Their Sleeve

Shock Me was written for the band Kiss after Ace Frehley was electrocuted onstage by a ungrounded handrail in Lakeland, FL.  He finished the show after a short break. The guitar solo here is considered one of his best. Coming from the 1977 album Love Gun, this is his first recorded lead vocal on an album. Frehley was shy, so he laid flat on his back in the studio to sing it. Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, Zeppelin) was the producer. Engineered by Corky Stasiak. Ace also played bass guitar on this track.
