The Godfather of Modern Rockabilly and Psychobilly

It’s a stage name and a band name.  Both musician James C. Heath and his trio is called The Reverend Horton Heat. The group formed in 1986, playing its first gigs in Dallas' Deep Ellum neighborhood. The core members are Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath on guitars and lead vocals, and Jimbo Wallace on the upright bass. The band performed "Dog Pound Hop", the surf-flavored theme to the hit animated series The Ren and Stimpy Show, which premiered in 1991.  Fun fact, one the bands that we were previously members of once opened for The Rev in Lake Charles.  I believe the flyer for that show is still hanging somewhere in Luna Downtown.
