The Real King of Rock 'n' Roll

Fats Domino was one of the pioneers of rock and roll music.  He was born right here in LA, in New Orleans, to a French Creole family. Even after his success he continued to live in his old neighborhood, the Lower Ninth Ward, until after Hurricane Katrina, when he moved to a suburb of New Orleans.  Elvis Presley declared Domino a "huge influence on me when I started out" and when they first met in 1959, described him as "the real king of rock 'n' roll".
