Lyrics

Turned seventeen, dropped outta school. Well, I talked to the recruiter at the shopping mall, tryna find my way. They said I could see the world, maybe go drinkin’ with some foreign girls, they were gonna make a big man outta me, Servin’ in The USA. Went to A.I.T. when I got outta Camp. There’s a line for what you want, you can’t cut in front, no matter what you do or say. So they sent me to a place I didn’t wanna go, down by The Gulf of Mexico, now I’m Servin' in the same country I come from, Servin’ in The USA. When I’m on active duty, I can follow my dreams. But those stations are filled for my specialty, so - for now - I play the waiting game. Sitting in reserve ‘til I get what I want, workin’ part time for a restaurant. So I’m waitin’ to get that call, for now - Servin’ in The USA. They were gonna make a big man outta me, Servin’ in The USA. Now I’m stuck in the same country I come from, Servin’ in The USA!
