As we’ve mentioned before, The “Three Kings of Blues Guitar” are BB, Freddy, and Albert King – no relation. Today’s focus is on Albert. He was once called "The Velvet Bulldozer" because of his smooth singing and large size–he stood taller than average, with sources reporting 6 ft 4 in or 6 ft 7 in, and weighed 250 lb – and also because he drove a bulldozer in one of his day jobs early in his career. Often cited as one of the greatest blues albums ever made, which was a collection of singles King recorded for the Stax record label, today's song comes from his album of the same name, Born Under A Bad Sign.
